Wisdom & Foolishness & Popularity

Weaken the power of those who oppose my child; may their influence be revealed for the foolishness that it is.  May the righteousness of those who follow you seem more appealing.

May her peers prefer to follow right and true ways rather than foolishness that will lead to wickedness.

May she see what is popular in the right light, through the filter of wisdom.

May she understand that popularity that will last is the kindness in a person, and not come from following external fads or treating others in a lowly manner.

Keep far from her mind the irrational throughts that lead to low self esteem; remind her always that you created her, she is yours, and you love her the way she is - that you created her the way she is.

I pray that as she looks at herself and at others, she'd see the similarities - that you created and love each one - rather than the differences to compare.

In the Story

May they understand your story, and that they have a part in it.  May they understand their place, both the smallness and the importance of it.  We are but dust, but we can make a difference.  We matter to you and to your story.

Treating Others Well

May each of these children I love seek to treat people well out of a sense that that is what is right, and not our of a selfish desire for popularity.

May they understand that true beauty and real character comes from how your are on the inside, not how you look on the outside.

Measuring Worth

I pray today for how she measures her worth.  May she find it in how much she matters to you and may that be reinforced by how we show that we value her. 

May she not judge her worth based on looks, weight, what she's not allowed to do or what foolish people think of her. 

Guard her mind and what she thinks about herself.
